Infantry Watch Model: IN-050 (Preview)

Background

I saw this watch in ebay auction. And found it to be very attractive. I have always wanted to get a sports watch but the price of branded stuff are way too high for me and I just couldn't part my money to get it. I have heard a lot about China made watches in the past that can be bought cheaply online.

So I visited the ebay... found this watch... it looked extremely beautiful in the photo and costed quite low as compared to branded sports watches. I know I wouldn't expect it to be as well made as the branded stuff, but for thirty dollars, it would be a steal. So I bite the bullet and bought it.

The watch came after around 1 week of waiting (I am truly impressed at the speed. Normally, it takes at least one month for my product to reach me, but this time round it was fast).

Unboxing

Okay, the packaging seemed normal enough until I opened the envelope. The watch came in a box... an actual box, not those crappy cardboard or bubble wrap. The first impression was extremely good.

 front

rear

A camouflage patterned (tightly fitted) hard paper wrap covered the inner box. The front of the box showed the company's logo and website. And the rear is a series of information such as the brand name, model name, SKU, etc etc.

Removing that wrap reviewed a box... so well made it would have made many branded watch or MP3 player wept. Now... the impression it gave me was that... I would keep that box and it was that good.

The box opened like a drawer, revealing the manual and part of the watch underneath, inclusive of the warranty card (which was a plastic card, unlike most other product that gave you paper).

Okay... now for the watch... it was heavy... the box stated that it weight 193g... not light weight for a watch. And it was massive.

The watch had lots of metal part around, and it feel extremely well built. The watch looked much more beautiful than I saw it online... something that is rarely the case.

The strap of the watch is of thick rubber, and this was not the case for many cheap imitations or original watches bought online. It feel solid, like something that costed many times the price of the watch.

Setting the watch

Okay... I wasn't too excited when I read the user manual. It was not terrible, but it sure can do some work in presentation. They cramp two type of watch in the manual (without stating which is which), so it can be kind of confusing.

Anyway I managed to get the gist of the control and started setting my watch properly.

The operation was actually pretty straight forward, this watch didn't had too much function, but the basic functions are there.

1) Alarm
2) Digital watch
3) Analog watch (which was actually not linked to the digital watch so as to provide two time zones)
4) Stop watch

And since I only have the watch for one day, I am not able to tell if the watch could run accurately for times to come.

How it look like on my hand

Okay. I do not have a bear arm, nor am I muscular in any sense.

But the watch still feel massive and heavy on my arm. And it was pretty loose, which made me wish that they include another hole or two on the strap to allow me to wear it tighter. Although I do not have the thickest of the arm, but I am pretty sure I am not the thinnest in the arm too.

Conclusion

This is a fabulous watch, can easily cost a couple of times more than the price it was selling. The packaging and build quality was incredible.

So far the time is going accurately, I will provide more update in future.

Although it stated that it is water resistance, I am not that keen to try though. I like this watch and wanted it to last longer.
